The creation of a global commonwealth is a central teaching of the Baháâà Faith. In the latter part of the nineteenth century, Baháâuâlláh called upon the worldâs rulers to reconcile their differences and to âlay the foundations of the worldâs Great Peace.â He proclaimed that âThe earth is but one country, and mankind its citizens.â
The Baháâà Faith is the youngest of the worldâs independent monotheistic religions. Founded in Iran in 1844, it now has more than five million adherents in 236 countries and territories. BaháâÃs come from nearly every national, ethnic and religious background, making the Baháâà Faith the second-most-widespread religion in the world.
